Winter Sowing

  • Beaver Dam Community Library 1701 North Spring Street Beaver Dam United States (map)

Does the thought of starting seeds indoors seem intimidating with the lights, trays, and threat of disease? Then skip that process and go to something much simpler: winter sowing. Winter sowing pioneered around 20 years ago in upstate New York but more and more gardeners are experimenting with it today.

Winter sowing is a simple, cost effective, and low maintenance way of starting seeds for the garden. Join Certified Master Gardener Carol Shirk to learn how to get started in this simple and fun way of gardening.

  • Bring along a clean, one gallon plastic jug to build and take home your first mini greenhouse.

For more information about this program and to register contact the Beaver Dam Community Library at 920-887-4631.

The address listed is the library’s temporary location during construction.
