Dodge County Master Gardener Association Scholarship
The Dodge County Master Gardener Association is proud to offer a $1,000 scholarship to support the next generation of horticulture professionals. This award is available to a graduating high school senior who plans to pursue a career in horticulture or a related field.
Eligibility Requirements:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Must live in Dodge County, Wisconsin.
Must be graduating from a public high school, parochial high school, or home school.
Must have applied to a two‑ or four‑year accredited college or technical school offering a degree or certification in horticulture or a related discipline.
Careers may include, but are not limited to, horticulture, plant science, soil science, agriculture, environmental science, landscaping, forestry, science education.

Congratulations to the 2026 recipients!
Owen Hemling and Oscar Stowell have each been awarded a 2026 Dodge County Master Gardener Association $1,000 Scholarship.
Owen Hemling, a senior at Beaver Dam High School, will attend Massachusetts Institute of Technology to pursue a degree in Environmental Engineering. While in high school Owen participated in Robotics, FFA, Soccer, Swim, Track, Band, Orchestra and Choir. He was also a gold metalist in the Math League. Owen is a member of the Leipsic 4-H Club and the FIRST Robotics State Youth Advisory Council. He runs his own poultry operation and has worked at Kurbrook Dairy Farms, Ovan’s Peony Farm and Lakeview Gamebirds. Owen hopes to make agriculture more sustainable for the next generation by designing systems that help farmers protect soil and water quality without sacrificing productivity.
Oscar Stowell, a senior at Waupun High School, plans to attend the University of Wisconsin River Falls majoring in Agricultural Education and Ag Business. In high school Oscar participated in FFA, as president from 2025 to present. He has taken part in FFA Leadership Development events and Livestock Evaluation Team. He is a member of the Wisconsin Department of Trade and Consumer Protection Ag Youth Council. Oscar has participated in wrestling, soccer, trap shooting and is a member of the Waupun National Honor Society. He has held multiple offices in the Achiever’s 4-H Club and helped with many community events. Oscar owns and operates Oscar’s Apiary, raising bees and harvesting honey. He also works at two local farms helping with livestock and farm chores. Oscar hopes to become an Agricultural Educator and FFA Advisor in order to educate and inform youth.
